Life’s Better at the Beach

IMG_1999-1

Hey guys! I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a couple weeks, I have been really busy! My final exams at school are coming up, and we are getting so much homework! I also had tennis every day, and my dance recital. I have not had much time to spare! School ends for me in a few weeks though, and then all I have are exams, so soon it will be summer vacation and I will have lots of time to update!

These pictures are from my vacation in October! I remember I didn’t post them at the time because I wanted to post fall outfits, but now it’s time for summer and I love looking at beach pictures!

There is just something about the blue beautiful water, crashing waves, and smooth sand that makes me wish I could spend every day at the beach. It’s so relaxing and beautiful.

Flower Power

This post is called flower power because of everything floral in it! My top and shoes are floral print and this picture I took of daffodils this morning. :)

So I got a haircut! It feels so much healthier now, and it is a huge weight off my shoulders! Now instead of 1000 pounds, my hair is only 700 pounds, haha.

Anyways, am I the only one who fears getting haircuts? I’m always afraid that my hair won’t be the same afterwards, or that I won’t like it and that too much will be taken off. I stress out way more than necessary about it!

And as for the outfit, I was going for a springy vibe with the flares and vintage top. You can never go wrong with a nice top, pair of jeans and cute flats!

Rainbows and Lollipops

021

This dress reminded me of carnivals and summer and happiness and all that good stuff wrapped into a piece of clothing. If only I had a giant cotton candy for these photos, or there were any fairs around here in the middle of April.

Anyways, I got this dress at Target (I’ve been going there a lot recently, haha) and it was on sale for just 12 dollars! I just loved that it had a little v-neck, and that it was striped and the colors! In my hair I’m wearing a flowery headband that is actually broken, but if you bobby pin in in a certain way, you can’t even tell! :)

So, I am sort of excited for summer, but a large part of me really isn’t. I’m actually really enjoying school this year and I’m going to be sad to see my sophomore year end. And my sister is graduating this year, and high school is not going to be the same without her. Plus, not looking so forward to my finals…..*cough* chemistry *cough*

Hi! I hope you are all having a nice spring! It has been sunny here, although the temperatures have been ranging from deceitfully cold to actually sorta kinda warm! And windy. It has been windy just about every day this week. But sunny and a little windy, I guess I can’t complain.

I got this skirt while shopping last weekend (again at target) and I couldn’t wait to style it. Since we had spring break this week, and I took a little “staycation” I’ve been wearing this skirt way too often! With different tops and shoes and accesories but always the skirt. If you read this blog often, you probably have realized I have a thing for high-waisted skirts.

Anyways, my week has been relaxing, uneventful. I have watched youtube videos and movies on netflix, and read. Jumped on the trampoline and shopped. Spent way a little too much time on twitter. Procrastinated my homework until tonight. The usual. :)

I’ll end this post with a quote today:

“Go forward in life with a twinkle in your eye and a smile on your face, but with great purpose in your heart.” Gordon B. Hinckley

I’m so happy the sun is finally out! My spring break from school started today and I’m so relieved. School has been so difficult lately (especially trig and chemistry) so it’s nice to have a little break!

Last night a bunch of friends and I went to see the Host movie! It was so good! I would definitely reccommend it, it was a great movie and a great time.

And as for the outfit, have you seen the Prabal Gurung line for Target? I was so happy when I heard of that collab, the pieces are so pretty and I love the bright colors and floral patterns in the collection!

Happy Easter! Love, Francesca

Hey guys! These were taken on the Long Island Sound, when we went down to NYC a couple weeks ago. I love this top, how cute are those anchors! Don’t be fooled by my warm-ish outfit though, it was still pretty cold. What can I say, I liked the outfit and I wanted to wear it anyways. :)

I know I haven’t been updating regularly these past couple weeks, I have been so busy! Our school musical Footloose performance is this weekend, and we have had practices every night until 9 or later, and practices on the weekend! You know when you’re so tired that you’re overtired and hyper and forget you’re even tired at all? That’s been my life. (Haha, that makes no sense)

Our first performance was last night, and it was absolutely a blast! Being on stage performing with all your friends is one of the best feelings. Now tonight will be crazy, we have our last performance, then the cast party, which I heard is going to be amazing!

I’ll show pictures of the musical later! :D

Some more NYC photos, these pictures were taken at the met, central park, the Plaza and Grand Central Station. This post comes with a styling tip! When transitioning from winter fashion to spring fashion, try to mix springy dresses with tights to keep you warmer and make the outfit more appropriate! Also, add a bright jacket to incorporate more color for springtime!

Hey guys! I had a great time in New York! It was very fun and the shopping was great!  The above picture is the statue at the Rockefeller center ice rink, isn’t it pretty?

So here’s my little story about these jeans: I am a very picky person, I’m picky with practically everything, especially shopping for jeans. My goal when I went was to find at least one pair of jeans that I absolutely loved and I found them! My ideal pair had; a vintage-feel, were skinny but not too tight, distressed but not too distressed, and very denim-y (you know, not too stretchy). I didn’t think I would find all that in a pair of jeans, but after a lot of searching, I finally found the pair!

And I learned a few things while I was there too! I learned that I have gotten so used to the cold that walking all around the city in this outfit in below freezing weather hardly bothered me. I learned that a surprising amount of people don’t know what boyfriend jeans are. I learned that a long car ride goes by so much faster with a good book, and I learned that my family is a little sick of me talking about Gossip Girl all the time. :)

Tonight I am scoping out the places I want to visit and where I want to shop in New York City! We leave tomorrow, and though I’ve been several times, I haven’t been with my camera yet, so I am prepared to take lots of pictures! I wish I wasn’t such a horrible procrastinator, of course tonight I was scrambling to pack, and pick out my outfits to wear on the trip.

I am now online window shopping at stores to see what they have for jeans, because those are what I’m on the lookout for while I’m in the city. I want to find the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans, and the elusive perfect skinny jeans (wish me luck)!

Have you ever noticed how tulle can make an entire outfit? I love tulle skirts, because they are so pretty and princesslike and can be worn in so many ways. I borrowed this skirt from my friend, and now I am on the look out for a tulle skirt myself. I can’t decide if I want mine to be longer and a bit more elaborate  like for dressing up, or more practical for everyday wear.

This outfit reminded me of Taylor Swift’s song “Enchanted”. Maybe it’s the abandoned country store, or the tulle? Or, actually, it’s probably the cat flats :)

Winter White

014-11

Hey guys! I hope you had a nice Valentine’s day! This past week was so busy for me, we had so much homework and many tests in school. Last night me and my friends went to the movies and saw Safe Haven and Beautiful Creatures. Safe Haven is the movie with Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. It was really good! A nice love story, and had some really funny parts. Beautiful Creatures, my friends were really excited to see, since they read the book but I didn’t and it was kind of hard to follow if you didn’t.

This weekend I have a field hockey tournament, I’m so excited! I haven’t played field hockey in a while, so it will be fun!

Be My Valentine

023

Happy Valentine’s day! I hope your day was great and fun, and that you had lots of chocolate! :)

Here are some pictures from my Valentine’s day!

P.S. A reader recently asked me to do an interview for her lovely blog, you can read it here! :)

007-1

I had a Valentine’s day locker party! I brought cookies, chocolate, candy and music and decorations and we all sat in the hall and had a party outside my locker! Since we had musical practice and were going to be busy today, I figured we could have a party in the hallway!

015

The food! Taken after a while, when most of the cookies were gone :)

I brought in a plush heart, a little v-day centerpiece, and an adorable dog plush that was a Valentine’s day gift to decorate my locker!

I Believe in Pink

002

“I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink, I believe that laughing is the best calorie-burner. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls, I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles!” Audrey Hepburn

I love Valentine’s day. There’s love and happiness in the air, everyone is scurrying to make it special for the people they care about. I love that everything is pink and red and happy. I love all of the flowers, and the chocolate, and making valentines. I like to think that this day is about love, for anyone, like your family and friends, not just a boyfriend.

I highly recommend watching the movie “Valentine’s Day” (you know, the one with like a bigillion celebrities) this week, because it is seriously the cutest movie!

Here are some snapshots from the past couple weeks :)

Snow Day

030-1

“There’s a storm coming, Harry” -Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

That quote is my favorite line to say from the Harry Potter series, because I love saying  it in Hagrid’s voice :)

Anyways, today a big snowstorm hit! As long as we aren’t driving anywhere, than I really like snowstorms. Outside every window looks so picturesque with the snow falling and the trees coated.

And the BEST part is…we had a snow day! School was cancelled because of the storm, and my sister and I got to stay home. This means watching the Today show, and playing in the snow and all of those good things. Oh, and no homework, can’t forget that.

Hello! So, I got new glasses! I have had glasses since I was in third grade, but a year ago I got contacts and shortly after lost my pair of glasses! Now I have a pair again, which is good because I really missed not having them!

This post was inspired by the Carrie Diaries! In case you haven’t heard of it, it’s Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City in her teenage years, following her and her friends in high school. It takes place in the eighty’s, and Carrie’s style is quirky and fun. I thought this vintage sweater was perfect for it!

Hey! So I’ve been busy recently with musical practices, and our musical this year is Footloose! I’m so excited, it has a lot of really good dancing and songs, and it should be a great show!

Ok so, I have a confession. I hardly own any heels! I have a red really high pair for school dances, and a couple pairs of heeled boots, but other than that, I’ve stayed away from them. I don’t even think it is because they are uncomfortable, because they definitely aren’t worse than pointe shoes! I think I had just preferred flats. Anyways, I am now taking baby steps into heels (haha) and I got these wedges. I love their color and that they have a strap, but I also like that they’re high, but wedges, so I don’t have to worry about falling :)

Do you prefer flats or heels? Or both?

Love, Francesca :)

Hey guys! This skirt was in my last post, I wanted to show another way to style this skirt with sweaters! It is one of my favorite types of outfits for winter, and such a great way to wear skirts in the winter! Also,  I absolutely love Peter Pan collars, I think they add such a pretty, girly flair to outfits. This one is a necklace, which is nice because you can take it off and add it to other tops.

So I have exciting news! I’ve been accepted to be a Teen Vogue fashion click blogger! To be to be on Teen Vogue’s website all the time is a dream! After all, it is my favorite magazine :) I’m really excited, and I’ll submit this post and it should be on a little later! Just click on my “teen vogue fashion click” badge on my sidebar to see it!

Hazy Shade of Winter

066-1

“Seasons change with the scenery, weaving time in a tapestry” -Simon and Garfunkel

I love winter. Even though sometimes it’s so cold you feel like your face is about to fall off, I still love it. There’s something so cozy about being all bundled up, and wearing sweaters and tights, and drinking hot chocolate that is so appealing to me.

It’s already January 25 and before you know it, it will be spring, then summer, fall and back to winter. So instead of wishing for the next season and set of holidays, appreciate what you are living in right now. In the middle of summer, you are dying for winter. Now you have what you want! :) Haha I find this helps while I’m standing outside in the freezing cold with wet hair waiting to go to school. And while I’m complaining about the summer heat, in July. Just live in the moment, and spend time valueably.
